Unleashing Elite Canine Care
The Luna Pueblo at Rancho Luna Lobos is family owned and operated. When you bring your pup for a visit, they are being welcomed into the Rancho family and their home, not just a kennel or corporate location. This is more than just a dog boarding facility, your pup becomes part of the pack and gets to know the year-round residents of the Luna Pueblo, constant familiar friends with every visit.
The owners live onsite with the pack, and they truly know each and every one of their dogs. Not only don’t they offer dog boarding, but they also run a recuse and rehabilitation for northern breeds dogs and offer educational inspirational year-round tours and one of a king summer camp with dog sledding as a form of therapy, only running dogs who absolutely live and love to run. Raised in Park City, Fernando has raced sled dogs from a young age. Dana and Fernando have five children of their own. Gabriel, 15, and Noah, 14, currently run their own dogs and will be racing Winter 2026/2027, where they will compete to maintain their jr world championship title! Josiah, 11, and Hazelle, 10, hope to join their brothers soon! Ariana, 7, joined their human pack on June 5th, 2019 and is adjusting to their wild and crazy life very well. Tours for Rancho Luna Lobos help to provide for the kennels and ranch these incredible athletes live on! Fernando races professionally. He recently competed in the International Pedigree Stage Stop Race, which is comparable to the world series of baseball. He placed 12th in this internationally competitive race. After that, he went to The Pas, Manitoba, Canada. There he competed in the World Championships, which is like the Olympics of dog sledding, the best in the world. Here, he also came in 12th. He has also raced in Laconia, New Hampshire at the World Championship Sled Dog Derby where he placed 6th, and is now ranked number 6 in the world. His amazing team was comprised of donated athletes and some rescue dogs, a very interesting mix indeed. All this to say, they know dogs very well and know how to provide world class and professional care for your pup.
Fernando and Dana believe in creating an environment where every dog can thrive. Their dogs are not circus animals, expected to perform and do all the work. Instead, they believe in building a relationship with each dog based on trust and respect, and discovering what life path will bring that dog the most joy. They believe that dog sledding is a work of art, and that all the pieces have to work together, both musher and dog, sharing the work, in order to create a masterpiece. They believe in relationship training and pack training, which they have incorporated into their dog boarding philosophy. They have seen superior results for their clients and their growth in their training and overall happiness.
